I thoroughly enjoyed my experience with Flowers Design School.  The staff were very helpful and always willing to pass on their knowledge and experience to the students.  The flexiability of being able to schedule classes around my two young children and also work at my own pace, were an important consideration for me.  I feel confident that I now have the skills required to secure a job in the floristry industry.

I thank FDS for sending me on a wonderful journey of new experiences.  The background knowledge I have gained from the teachings at the school has given me confidence and sound understanding of the profession that I will pursue for years to come.

From my initial enquiry at Flowers Design School, I found the staff to be very helpful, patient and extremely friendly.  In all my dealings with Raelene Walton (Training Manager), I can honestly say she is a very supportive staff member, ready with answers to all my many questions and she is a great administrative support.  All the lecturers are extremely talented and excited about the work they do.  This made lessions most enjoyable in a practical way and I always left class feeling inspired, supported and ready for the next challenge.

Deciding to complete Certificate III in Floristry at Flowers Design School has been one of the best decisions I have made.  I would highly recommend this teaching school to anyone wishing to train in the floral industry as teh knowledge and experience of all the certified teaching staff would have to be second to none.  The underpinning knowledge of all aspects of floristry are taught along with the encouragement to continue learning new techniques and being aware of trends within the industry.  On completion of the course and graduating, I now have the knowledge and skills required to succeed as a qualified florist

Having the opportunity to study with “Flowers Design School” in WA is truly a rewarding experience both as personal development and building my confidence in getting a step closer to fulfilling my dream of owning and running a floral boutique in the near future. Having come from Thailand and attending several professional floral courses in Singapore and Malaysia, I can only conclude that nothing is more comprehensive than the Certificate 3 in Floristry design course with Flowers Design School here in Perth. I have learnt a lot more than I did before on creative techniques with a blend of nature. The compulsory work experience in a floral shop has helped me tremendously to experience “real life” application of what we have learnt in the classroom.

Flowers Design School is were I completed my Cert III in Floristry after moving from my previous training school.  I have been very pleased with the entire team as they have provided a smooth transition.  The school provides an international level of training with a structured learning environment and the advanced skills training is provided by master florists normally only found in Europe.  I have found the course innovative and modern and the teaching team is highly skilled yet promotes imagination and creativity from the students.  If you are thinking about  a course in Floral Design, then I would highly recommend Flowers Design School to start your new career.

Flowers Design School was very helpful right from the beginning with my training enquiries.  I was guided into the right direction and was positively surprised that I was entitled to 2 government funded programs.  As English is my second language the help and guidance I have received from the team during my enrolment and training process has been an enjoyable experience.  My confidence is building and I am ready to join the workforce.

If you are anything like I was one year ago, sitting there wondering what to do with your life, I decided I had had enough of sitting in front of a computer and took the biggest challenge of my life. I took a one year leave from work and jumped on the plane leaving Oslo in Norway to head to Australia. Now a year later I have just finished my exam and I am very proud of my results. I can now call myself a Floral Designer and can choose which field I want to work in, be it bridal work, funeral work, commercial, entering floral competitions, creating advanced floral designs, corporate work, opening my own business or just producing my own desings as a hobby. If you are from another country like myself or from another part of Australia, I can highly recommend taking the trip to attend this course. Flowers Design School is always prepared to receive international students as cultural differences are welcome. The standard of the school is very high and the team make you feel special, not just one of many students. Take the first step into your future.

Being in the right place at the right time began my new career in floral design, and once exposed to the world of flowers I was totally hooked.  I began my traineeship in October 2003 at Karratha florist, which is a long way north of Perth.  From my initial contact with Flowers Design School I was impressed with the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and I was made to feel like I belonged.  I enjoyed my self-paced on-line retail units as I could work at my own pace and fit it in around work and family.  I have been lucky enough to work beside Lynn & Eva when they visited Karratha florist and found that incredibly exciting.  I couldn’t wait to go to Perth for my intense training week if these ladies were the caliber of the teachers their….I was not disappointed.  The teachers were extremely professional and encouraging, nothing was too much trouble.  I learnt an incredible amount of practical hands on floristry techniques in one week, which was exhausting but a lot of fun and undertaken in a friendly, creative and inspiring environment.  I couldn’t wait to start my second week.

When I started 18 months ago, I wasn't very confident in my work or myself. But gradually, I have gained confidence and now assess my work before asking for advice. I can change the way I look at myself and my work and I believe that the training I have received from Flowers Design School has assisted a lot in this. The teachers are very helpful and take the time to teach, so that you really understand what has been said. I highly recommend going to train at the school if the opportunity arises. Once you've been here you'll never look back. I just wish I could keep on coming.

When I first started at Flowers Design School, I didn't know how much there was to learn about floristry. The teachers taught me everything that I will need to begin my career. I am very thankful for the knowledge and skills they have given me and the opportunity to meet other students, especially as I am from a country town.
