This qualification is the benchmark to enter the industry as a professional and is aimed at preparing you for ‘work ready’ situations in a more senior position. All competencies are based on the Nationally endorsed training package which includes practical and theoretical units of competencies. The training focuses on intermediate to advanced floristry skills applied to corporate design, bridal, funeral and commercial shop designs as well as advanced retail and introductory marketing and management skills. This is the ideal career path for mature students or those who want to enter this industry as a professional. Course: 276 nominal hours. 5 FDS Modules consisting of 55 sessions (4 x practical & 1 x theory)
Requirements: Cert II in Floristry. Students are required to supply tools and materials for practical classes

This is our recommended career path for students wishing to work within industry. If you would like to become an established florist, this is the professional training path to take. All competencies are based on the nationally endorses floristry training package, which includes all Certificate II competencies plus all units required for Certificate III in floristry.
Contemporary structural design skills, application of European design fundamentals, extensive training in classic and contemporary bridal bouquet skills, intermediate funeral design skills, practical application of creating a shop display and commercial shop ideas for every day work, advanced commercial design ideas including gift items and speed training.
Application of advanced product knowledge, advanced sales processes including quoting of weddings and other design work, basic marketing skills including demographic research and how to design and implement a promotional strategy.
Flowers Design School offer this certificate course throughout the year. We are able to do this by delivering all of the necessary Units of Competence in a modular structure, to learn more about our training delivery, please contact the school.
RPL is an assessment process aimed at the recognition and acknowledgement of the competencies a candidate has obtained outside the formal training environment. Competencies may have been gained through informal training or work/life experiences. Rather than undertaking training, candidates may choose assessment via RPL. The RPL process requires an initial interview, a self evaluation and followed by the determined assessment criteria. Fees and charges apply and are available upon application.
