This qualification is suitable for people who wish to commence a career path in floristry. All competencies are based on the Nationally endorsed training package, which includes hands-on floristry skills, visual merchandising, communication, safety and retail skills as well as botanical and colour theory modules. This is a great way to start your career, particularly if you are in a transition stage of your life or just looking to enter the industry. You will be exposed to stimulating learning through a variety of classes. Please note that the qualification course includes theoretical units of competency as well as the practical ones. Requirements: No pre-requisites. Students are required to supply tools and materials for practical classes and practical assessments.
Certificate II in Floristry is suitable for people who wish to commence a career path in floristry. All competencies are based on the nationally endorsed floristry training package, which includes;
Basic and contemporary arrangements for all occasions, hand tied bouquets for every day and special occasions, basic wiring work including button holes and corsages, commercial speed training, artistic designs, visual merchandising and sketching skills, colour theory and application for florists, cut flower care including conditioning techniques, basic botanical knowledge including recognizing plant material and botanical features.
Customer service, sale of products and services and practical application of product knowledge, maximising sales techniques and reviewing sales performance, safety in the workplace, workplace communication, operate retail equipment, apply POS procedures, and balance the cash register, stock take, stock control and minimizing theft in a retail shop.
Flowers Design School offer this certificate course throughout the year. We are able to do this by delivering all of the necessary Units of Competence in a modular structure, to learn more about our training delivery, please contact the school.
RPL is an assessment process aimed at the recognition and acknowledgement of the competencies a candidate has obtained outside the formal training environment. Competencies may have been gained through informal training or work/life experiences. Rather than undertaking training, candidates may choose assessment via RPL. The RPL process requires an initial interview, a self evaluation and followed by the determined assessment criteria. Fees and charges apply and are available upon application.
